   Claire Silva is an internationally known author and vocal advocate for protecting children. Her work has helped survivors, parents, and professionals who are striving to make this world a safer place for kids. Professionally, she has worked in CT, MA and RI - providing substance abuse & violence prevention, and housing for homeless women since 1991.
  Fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and Cape Verdean Criolo, her expertise is developing and implementing programs for immigrants, and low-income children and their families. Throughout her career, she has witnessed the strong link between children who were sexually assaulted and their lifelong battle of self medicating through drugs and alcohol.

Through her own family's trauma, Claire hopes that people can learn more about preventing sexual abuse of children, and how to support survivors.
